 Bigby's Cafe and Restaurant is Cagayan de Oro's pride that started out in 1998. Henrik Kelly Yu, Joanna Cris Yu and Catherine Genabe first introduced the Bigby's Cafe Concept in the city of Cagayan in December 8, 1998. The long time friends came up with an idea of creating an atmosphere fir for an adventure into the different cuisines of the world. This big name in the food industry is finally in Metro Manila as it opened it's 9th branch at SM Megamall Atrium last December 20, 2008. It's beginning was in such an unusual time, when the people were just barely done coping with the Asian crisis that affected the country the previous year. Most people became inclined to eating out at food establishments offering quick meals and had shied away from treating themselves to a fine dining experience. The owners saw the opportunity of offering something new for this market who were getting used to such meals, by taking them off the streets and into a nicer dining place but still paying affordable prices. And that is when this big idea began. From then on, Bigby's has attracted crowds of regulars and has become a favorite dining choice for its many loyal patrons. The relaxed ambiance of the place has become popular among diners and has successfully hosted many family gatherings and friendly get-togethers. In 2000, the business was thriving steadily. Bigby's was adding one branch after the other. The business expanded to 8 branches in Mindanao and the Visayas(2 in Cagayan de Oro City, 2 in Cebu, 2 in Bacolod City and 2 in Davao City). And before the end of 2008, which was also their 10th year in the food industry, they opened their 9th branch and the very first Bigby's in Luzon. The Manila branch is filled with bits and pieces from different places in the world. Different kinds of visual treats include framed collection of key chains, swords, badges, spoons, and wooden crafts displayed on the walls. It's cozy interior is made up wooden panels and clear glasses, with writings that match the chairs and tables. The members of the crew are even dressed like explorers eager to guide diners to the ultimate Bigby's food trip.  Cozy Interior.
