Get Laud, the premiere choice for stylish affordable clothing, welcomes the new season with drapes, jump suits, lines and ruffles, reminiscent of fashion trends of different decades. The new collection, unveiled recently at a fashion show at 9501 in ABS-CBN, features styles that can easily go from casual to chic, daywear to evening and party dresses. Mini dresses are designed in various styles. Ruffled sleeves, bodice and hemlines give a fresh, updated look to this 70’s fashion trend. Goddess dressing takes on a more casual approach with toga-style dresses designed with ruffles and horizontal lines. The elegant Greek-inspired dress was also made more sophisticated and modern accentuated with silver sequins, ideal for the Holiday season’s cocktail parties and next year’s prom nights. Meanwhile, cascade and drapes lend a feminine touch to spaghetti and asymmetrical mini dresses. Jumpsuits will continue to be a season must have and predicted to be a big trend in Spring 2010. Get Laud gets ahead with its own collection of sleeves and strapless jumpsuits and harem pants, adding flare and funk to the classic design with zippers, buttons, ruffles and abstract prints. Meanwhile bold prints; graphic lines and floral patterns dominate the collection of skirts, tops and casual dresses. Young, hip and careless schoolgirl fashion makes a comeback with checkered and pleated skirts. Sexy and fun were mixed together in layered skirt with big bubble prints and asymmetrical lines. Bows, ribbons and puffed shoulders create an exciting distinction to the usual loosely fit tops. The key element of the designs favors women’s curve without sacrificing comfort and ease of movement. The cuts emphasize the legs, shoulders and neck and each piece were cut to exude sexiness without exposing too much skin. Fashion Tips for the Everyday Fashionista TV Host/Model Phoemela Baranda was also launched as the newest endorser of Get Laud in the same event. Phoem, who has been a fashion icon for more than a decade, shared five dressing up advice to become an everyday fashionista. 1. Mix and Match. I try to avoid wearing the same outfit twice. My secret is to mix and match, specially my favorite pieces like a printed skirt or trousers. I can create different looks by changing my top or adding a blazer or changing my shoes and bag. 2. Stretch your budget. During hard times, you don't have to sacrifice your look. Local retail stores are already up to date and comparable to imported brands. 3. Dress appropriately for the occasion. Making a statement is different from dressing outrageously. Always comply with the dress code but jazz up your outfit with the latest accessories. 4. Keep it clean and make sure everything is in place. One thing I can’t stand is a dirty shoe. Always check if your dress is well pressed and check if everything is in place. You don't want to be seen in a dress with flaws like bulges or if your dress is missing a button. Get Laud’s newest collection will be available soon at its 30 stores located nationwide. Visit any of its stores in Market Market, Alabang Town Center, Festival Mall, Marquee Mall, Robinson’s Metro East, NCCC Mall of Davao, Sta Lucia East and SM Malls or log on to http://www.getlaud.com/ Unending thanks to Flow Galindez for inviting me.
