I've been curious and eager to watch the film "SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE" after watching the Oscar last February 22, 2009. The film bagged 8 awards including Best Picture. Now I know the answer! Am so happy that I was given the chance to be at the red carpet premiere of the movie last April 6 at Cinema 3, Mall of Asia.
Prepare yourself to be overtaken by emotions as varied as joy, pity, happiness, anger, surprise, and an exhilarating conclusion rarely seen in movies anymore. This film has made me grateful to be alive and lucky enough.

A rags-to-riches story of a Mumbai slum dweller, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE is helmed by acclaimed director Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, The Beach, Trainspotting) and bagged eight major awards in the recent Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Director. It also won five Critics' Choice awards, four Golden Globes, and seven BAFTA awards, including Best Film, as well as several film festival awards.
Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees (Php 19 million) on India's ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" Arrested on suspicion of cheating, he tells the police the incredible story of his life on the streets, and of the girl he loved and lost. But what is a kid with no interest in money doing on the show? And how is it he knows all the answers?

I didn't know anything about the film other that what I just mentioned and that was part of the enjoyment so I won't talk about the film to allow you the same discovery I went through. The last few minutes of the film will have you on the edge of your seat hoping against hope that what "is written" is really written.
It's funny, sad and thrilling!
Watch it and you will walk out of that theater inspired, encouraged, hopeful, but most of all in love with this film.
Find out why SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE won as 2009 Oscar's Best Picture.
It opens at your favorite theaters beginning April 11. A Viva International Pictures release.
Thanks to Azrael Coladilla and of course TV5 and Viva International Pictures for the VIP tickets to the red carpet premiere of Oscar's Best Picture for 2009, "SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE".
